3D Printed Models: Flad Architects. 2015
3D prints of two Flad projects: The Stanford Cafe ad the Laney College. Through this exercise, I reconfigured existing computer-based models for optimal printer reading-- first bringing Sketchup files into Rhino, which has the ability to check for completely closed geometries; once printer ready, these geometries are converted into .stl format to be printed. Throughout the process, I ran multiple iterations of the different building pieces for machine tolerance and developed a standard for column, louver, and reveal sizes and orientations.
